The following policies have been developed with the health and wellness of your pet in mind.
- We will confirm your booking the day before your Pet Sitting services begin. If you don't hear from us the day before a sit, you must call before you leave to confirm that you are on our schedule. While rare, emergencies and mistakes can happen. Please also contact us once you are home to confirm that you have arrived.
- We may require that you supply a gentle leader, sensation harness, choke or prong collar for your dog if it becomes difficult to handle safely on walks.
- All Dog Walking clients requesting services 2x/week or more will participate in a one week trial before we can commit to providing ongoing services.
- Dogs will be walked if it is raining, but they will not be walked in storm conditions for the safety of your pet and Pet Sitter.
- We can not be held responsible for free-roaming outdoor pets in the event of illness, injury, loss or death. We strongly recommend that all pets remain inside your residence or safely confined to an outside area with shelter. We also encourage all pet owners to obtain I.D. tags for their pets which are inscribed with a contact number. Please note that invisible fences are not considered safe confinement.
- Please notify us if anyone else will have access to your home during the pet sit.
- Dog Gone Bizzy! will not leave keys locked inside of your residence at the end of a sit, in order that we may continue to care for your pets if you are delayed in returning home. We will retain a set of keys to your home marked with a non-identifying number (all identifying information is stored separately in a password-protected computer file). At such time as you decide, Dog Gone Bizzy! will return your keys to you; however, please note that there is a $10 key pick-up charge if we need to return for your keys in the future.
In order to ensure that things go smoothly with your Pet Sitter, please take a moment before you leave to do the following:
- Leave enough water for your pet to last until the Pet Sitter's first scheduled visit
- Make sure that you have left enough supplies (food, medicine, treats, kitty litter, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc.) for your Pet Sitter and ensure that they are all left where you told your Pet Sitter they would be
- Tell your neighbors, landlord and/or super that your Pet Sitter will be stopping by while you are away, so that they do not become suspicious
- Leave your dog's leash where you told your Pet Sitter it would be
- If there is anything out of the ordinary in your home (sinks that don't drain, toilets that overflow, pipes that may freeze, etc.), please leave a note to warn your Pet Sitter
- Turn on the outside light for your Pet Sitter, where applicable
- Close all doors, windows and screens, and lock up your residence
- Be sure to leave payment for your Pet Sitter, if you haven't already paid in advance
